Alan's professional demeanor, artistic eye, and attention to detail helped to make our wedding day so enjoyable and relaxing. His pictures captured some of our most treasured memories.

I can't accentuate enough the blessing that Alan was to my wife and I during our wedding process, and in particular, our wedding day. I never imagined that I would have been as nervous as I was on the ``big day.`` It's something we commonly joke about now, but what really assuaged me was Alan and his spirit. He was calm, fully in control, highly organized and ready to honor our every wish. Alan goes above and beyond. He does not stop at the expectations, but he far exceeds those with all of his neat ideas and personalizing. He truly made our day unforgettable, and we are ever grateful to him!

Our special day was truly a special day thanks to Alan French. You hear all the horror stories about wedding picture shoots, but ours could not have been better. Alan focused on getting us the poses we wanted with the people we wanted. I do not think we could have found a more relaxed photographer either. Rather than adding to the tension of the day, Alan remained pleasant and collected. And when it was all said and done, quality photos hang on our walls and fill our photo albums of our special day.

We got engaged on July 9th and planned our wedding date on October 20th , 2012. Well, that didn’t really leave a whole lot of wedding planning while both of us were working more than full-time jobs! Alan had everything lined up and ready well before the wedding! All the way down to what pictures we would like with whom!

There was only one name that came to mind when Joe and I started thinking about our wedding pictures. Alan French Photography! I have known Alan French for a very long time. Not only is he a great photographer but a wonderful father and husband, too.
Our wedding pictures were above and beyond what we could have ever expected. I can not forget to mention the wedding book he made for us. I have our wedding book on display on our coffee table, so everyone that visits our house will see his handiwork.
There is no doubt in my mind that Alan French Photography will meet every expectation a client could have.

Alan did an incredible job on our wedding photos. I remember mentioning after the wedding that I don't remember one picture being taken, although he took so many! That's how professional Alan is! He got so many special shots that meant so much to us. We can replay those memories anytime we want just by looking back at our photos. He did an amazing job & I recommend him to anyone/everyone!!!

Q: Can I give you a shot list for the wedding day?

A: I would be happy to preview any shots you like before the big day. I would ask that you keep a few things in mind. First, there are certain, standard photos that I will get at every wedding: the first looks (bride and groom), the kiss, processional, details, etc. The same goes for the formals (staged photos with family members). For the formals I have a standard list that you will help me customize to meet your needs. Secondly, remember that you are hiring me for my shooting style. You have seen the photos I have here on this site, so you know my style. I can certainly take inspiration from the photos you like and find elsewhere on the internet (Pintrest, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.), but it is practically impossible to recreate photos you find elsewhere. Many times the lighting, setting, etc. are not correct for me to recreate photos created by someone else.

Q: What types of photos do you take on the wedding day?

A: Basically, I break the photos down into 5 different categories:

1) Details: rings, jewelry, reception decorations, etc.
2) Preparations: bride getting ready, groom getting ready, etc.
3) Portraits: individual photos of bride, groom, attendants, etc.
4) Formals: posed groupings of family, friends, and bridal party.
5) Ceremony: processional, recessional, candid shots during the main event, etc.
6) Reception: all the fun, and memories of some things you might even want to forget.

Through all these somewhat abstract divisions I continue to make candid photographs of the day.

Q: Can I have the original files to the photos of my day?

A: I capture all my photos in proprietary Nikon Electronic Format (.NEF). These files are not suitable for viewing until “developed”. “Developing” is the process that produces what you see as the beautiful photos on my site. These files are not released to clients. With purchase of Packages #1 or #2, my clients will receive internet sharable JPEGs (Joint Photographic Experts Group) files of any photos purchased. Purchasing the sharable files of then entire day is an a la carte option with Packages #2 or #3.

Q: Who can view my photos online?

A: Anyone with whom you share the password to your gallery can view and purchase your photos online. Once your photos are edited and posted online I will supply you with the password to your gallery.

Q: How long are you present on the wedding day?

A: Clients find my coverage times to be quite generous. Some wedding days are longer and some are shorter. My philosophy of photography is to cover the key events of your day. You and I will sit down and agree upon exactly what events need to be covered, establish a timeline for the day, and determine a tentative beginning and ending time based on the package you purchase. I arrive in plenty of time to set up and test all my equipment, so I am ready to go to work whenever you are ready for me.

Q: Do you travel for wedding photography?

A: Yes, I do travel. The first 50 miles of travel (25 miles each way) is included in the cost of the package purchased. If you are more than 25 miles away from me, please contact me for a custom travel quote. For extended travel, clients will need to make travel arrangements though my travel agency for me and my assistant.

Q: Is you style formal or photojournalistic?

A: My style is a mixture of both formal and photojournalistic. Family settings, wedding party, and portraits are handled in a more formal style, but the rest of the day involves me making photographs of the events of the day as they unfold. Even during the formal photo sessions of the day, I am constantly looking for and capturing those candid moments that will spontaneously occur.
